The first duty of a revolutionary is to be educated.

The center begins its activities in February and will work on intersecting time horizons and initiatives:

ANNUAL CONFERENCE/ FESTIVAL

We aim to establish ourselves as a global intellectual hub, bringing together the most active heterodox economic scholars from around the world. Beginning with the Inaugural Conference in February 2025 (see attached program), we will host an annual gathering to explore cutting-edge research in the tradition of heterodox economics. Our ultimate vision is to evolve this conference into a festival, where rigorous academic discourse intersects with a broader audience through music, theatrical performances, and creative expression

MONTHLY SPEAKER SERIES

We will make the most of the beautiful space at 101 Archer Street in downtown Tulsa, offering refreshments for all who wish to join us for productive evening conversations about our socio-economic challenges and how to address them. Each event will feature a diverse range of voices: authors, organizers, and individuals with lived experience. Our ambition is to become a key reference point for Tulsa’s residents who seek a deeper understanding of economic issues and a space for meaningful dialogue. In response to the structural individualization of society, we are creating a space to reclaim our collective economic agency. Once momentum builds, we aim to host bi-weekly events, incorporating documentary screenings followed by thematic discussions.

DAILY STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

Our institution will provide an essential flourishing opportunity for young minds who are hungry to understand the world and transform it. Students are demanding a socio-economic education that addresses their real-life concerns, not abstract models of perfect equilibrium. Pressure to conform is immense, but academic opportunities can be life-changing and empowering. That’s why we’re developing a comprehensive program: starting with a minor in Fall 2025, followed by a major, a postdoctoral track, and a graduate program.  In addition, we will offer an annual summer school in the study of capitalism. Beginning in May 2026, we will host a 10-day, cost-free summer program designed to examine our economic system. We are also building a global network with academic institutions from Brazil, India, Palestine, and beyond, to attract international students and foster meaningful exchanges.

DAILY ONLINE PRESENCE

Our physical presence will be matched by a robust online presence. We aim to create not only a Roman-style piazza for in-person dialogue, but also to leverage the potential of a ‘distributed Piazza’ online. Ideas become material forces only when they are shared and re-shared, and we must market meaningful dialogue as effectively as others market beauty products. By contributing thoughtful, well-crafted theoretical insights to online discussions, we can help foster a structural critique that evolves into policy demands and greater calls for economic emancipation.
