TU Freshmen Unleash Creativity at Workshop

2025 Fall 3D Workshop

As part of TU’s Freshmen Welcome Week, incoming students got a first taste of hands-on creativity during Unbox Your Imagination in 3D, an interactive workshop hosted by the Computer Simulation & Gaming (CSG) program.

The session was facilitated by CSG Assistant Instructional Professor Chris Burris, who leads TU’s courses in 3D modeling, animation, and virtual production. With his guidance, students explored the same digital tools used not only in the classroom but also in the gaming, animation, and film industries. Starting with basic shapes, students then transformed them into imaginative 3D creations in this hands-on workshop.

For many attendees, it was their first time using 3D software, but that didn’t slow anyone down. Professor Burris kept the energy high and the learning fast-paced, showing just how accessible and fun 3D design can be.

Whether students came in as aspiring artists, seasoned gamers, or just curious explorers, they walked away with something they built from scratch and a clearer idea of what it’s like to be part of TU’s CSG community.

The workshop drew an enthusiastic crowd of freshmen who stayed afterward to ask questions about the program, future classes, and how to turn their passions into a career.

If this event was any indication, TU’s newest class is ready to create worlds of their own.
