Welcome to the Ford Lab

Dr. Laura P. Ford is an Associate Professor in the Russell School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Tulsa. She does research in engineering education and advises the university’s chapter of Engineers Without Borders – USA. She has recently taught or is teaching engineering science thermodynamics, engineering science fluid mechanics, mass transfer & separations, process control, and unit operations laboratories. All of her degrees are in chemical engineering: bachelors from Oklahoma State University and masters and PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Ford likes to ride her bike to campus and do outdoor activities with her five children.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates

The University of Tulsa hosted a summer research experience for undergraduates (REU) from 2019 to 2023 in solar and alternative technologies (SALT). Another will be proposed on materials for energy transition (MET) for 2025 to 2027. Learn more about the SALT REU and the proposed MET REU below.
