Event to be held at 101 E. Archer on August 27, 5p-7p. Register here.
The Teachers Institute for Tulsa (TIFT) is thrilled to host our annual application release party! Our aim for this event is to provide a space in which TPS teachers can learn more about the TIFT program and how it benefits participating teachers and their students. It’s also a great opportunity to chat with former TIFT Fellows, other teachers in the district, and participating TU faculty. It will be an informal event with hors d’oeuvres and drinks available.
TIFT is an organization that hosts professional learning seminars for TPS teachers. Our focus is on building content knowledge and subject matter expertise for educators in the district. Each seminar covers a unique topic that can be applied to all grade levels and various academic disciplines, especially the core curricular subjects. As teachers attend seminar, they build a curriculum unit that will be used in their classrooms following completion of the program.

This year we’re offering four seminars, two in the humanities and two in STEM-related fields. Click here to read more about the seminars we’re offering:
- Rooted Words: Poetry and Culture
- Monsters in America
- Biological Anthropology
- The Energy Landscape: From Fossil Fuels to Solar Rays
Our mission is to help teachers build curriculum by emphasizing teacher expertise, collaboration, and autonomy. We believe that teachers who are subject matter experts will teach more effectively. Each year in our program we empower teachers to be great educators and to change the lives of their students. By investing in our teachers, we invest in our students and our communities.
If you plan on attending our application release celebration, follow this link to register. Registration is free, but we ask that teachers fill out this form so we can best plan for the event.
