Webinar is scheduled for September 17th, 5p-6p. Register here.

Join us for a virtual webinar on the 2024-25 seminars at the Teachers Institute for Tulsa (TIFT). Participating TU faculty will preview the seminars offered this upcoming year and answer questions from the audience. Presentations will include:

  • Professor Jan Willson on “Monsters in America”
  • Professor Gabriel LeBlanc on “The Energy Landscape: from Fossil Fuels to Solar Rays”
  • Professor Quraysh Ali Lansana on “Rooted Words: Poetry and Culture”
  • Professor Miriam Belmaker on “Biological Anthropology: An Introduction”

In TIFT, seminars are discussion-based and/or interactive courses for teachers accepted into our program (named “Fellows”). While Fellows build content and subject matter expertise in seminars, they write a curriculum unit to be used in their classrooms. Unique to our professional development program is the spirit of collegiality, active learning of participants, and collaboration in a community of educators.

The Teachers Institute for Tulsa runs from November to April. Our program meets on Tuesday evenings from 5:30p-7:30p at the University of Tulsa’s main campus.

TIFT is accepting applications for 2024-25 until September 30th. The application portal and eligibility requirements can be found on our website. If you have any questions, please reach out to TIFT director Daniel Thater: daniel-thater@utulsa.edu.
