Management Platform

WordPress content management system offers an easy-to-use interface and is scalable to accommodate many sites on campus. No special software is needed, and no coding is required.

Web Hosting & Security

Sites share hosting with a multisite installation with our managed WordPress hosting environment. Our third-party host provides excellent security and reliable performance. Backups and routine updates are handled for you. For more information, see WordPress Security Services.

Site Migration

Efforts have been focused on migrating existing sites from across campus to this single, secure and stable WordPress environment. We will accept new site requests soon.

Site Owner & Content Managers

Each site must have an owner, who is primarily responsible for the site, typically the faculty member, faculty-advisor of the project/organization, or staff members. Additional user accounts can be created to allow other users to contribute and/or manage site content.

Site Access & Permission

Some sites may require users to log in before viewing the site. Website owners and content editors must use their TU Net ID credentials to login. If you want non-TU users to have access to contribute content to your site, contact help@utulsa.edu.

Site Functionality

Plugins are additional tools installed that add functionality and features to your site. You won’t be able to install new plugins, however, there are a lot of great plugins available to you already installed on your site.

Media & Data Storage

Uploading images and documents is easy in WordPress. The maximum for each individual file size is 50 MB. If you have questions or additional file storage needs, we can discuss additional options.

Site URLs & Subdomains

Web addresses are created as subdirectories, so your site’s web address will be sites.utulsa.edu/your-site.  In certain circumstances, new subdomains (your-site.utulsa.edu) may be purchased through IT services. If you already have an existing subdomain or you’d like to request one, please contact help@utulsa.edu.

Branding & Templates

We have provided a basic theme that is highly customizable for your use. We have some branding templates to choose from when your site is created. Additional themes and templates may be available for special circumstances.

Training & Support

CampusPress offers an extensive set of help articles on their website at docs.campuspress.com. Web Systems will offer occasional group training/support sessions throughout the year. Please look for more information at sites.utulsa.edu. For new sites and for site permission issues, please email help@utulsa.edu.
