What is the Cryptography Academy?


The University of Tulsa’s Summer Cryptography Academy a residential program designed for the curious, the puzzle lover, and the student (entering 8th and 9th grade) who wants to solve challenges using technology, mathematics and critical-thinking skills.

The Cryptography summer academy is seeking students to participate in escape rooms, hands-on decoding activities, and puzzle solving, mainly using technology. This technology-based cryptography academy will be housed on The University of Tulsa campus. Students will work together on projects while the teachers help guide activities.

Are you a student entering 8th and 9th grade in Fall 2024? Are you interested in cryptography, solving puzzles, and using presentation software and solving escape room challenges? If this is you, then come stay on TU’s campus for a week and participate in this free program.

Teachers currently teaching 8th and 9th grade core courses are encouraged to find out more about this free opportunity.

The academy will be held from June 10-15, 2024. This residential academy requires students to stay for the week, live in TU dormitories, participate on field trips, and interact with fellow students.
