About the Academy

The University of Tulsa Cryptography summer academy is a residential program designed for the curious, the puzzle lover, and the student (entering 8th and 9th grade) who wants to solve challenges using technology, mathematics and critical-thinking skills.

The University of Tulsa faculty, along specialized teachers, designed this program for students to solve engineering challenges, decipher puzzles, unlock cryptographic locks, and create escape room challenges using unique strategies and decoding skills.

Following training, master teachers will develop teaching modules for students to use their creativity, math skills, problem solving and critical thinking skills to engage in a number of fun and rewarding activities.

Teachers interested in the program will receive professional development credit from The University of Tulsa. Students will receive instruction, time to complete collaborative projects and hours of experience using a variety of technologies.

Parents and visitors are invited to attend a final presentation celebration of all the work done during the week. Everything is free. Come accept the challenge.
